Is it possible:
1. Serve an enlistment, earn Montgomery GI bill
2. Graduate from a service academy or college through the ROTC program
3. Attend Uniform Services University of Health Sciences or receive the HPSP scholarship
4. Receive full deferment for civilian residency and join the FAP program
Note: The GI bill could be used to supplement a college education or civilian medical school
What would the payback be?
1. Time served - no obligation
2. 5 years for service academy or 4 years for ROTC
3. 7 years for USUHS or 4 years for HPSP
4. Full Deferment = NADDS = neutral obligation
5. FAP residency + 1 (For example a 4 year residency = 5 years)
For a service academy(5), USUHS(7) and FAP(5) program there would be a 17 year payback!
