Not the VA and not the Department of Defense

MilitaryMedicine is run by the administrator of the militarymedicine.com service. We are not a government agency. We do not decide claims, we cannot see your VA file and we cannot change your rating. Only VA decides your claim. For official information, your claim status and official forms, use VA.gov or contact VA directly.

We do not represent you and no attorney and client relationship is formed by using this site. The guides explain public rules in 38 CFR in plain words, but they are general information. Your situation may be different, and rules can change. For advice about your claim, talk to an accredited representative.

No medical advice

Our guides describe how VA rates conditions. They do not diagnose, treat or replace care from a qualified health professional. Talk to your doctor about your health.

The calculator gives an estimate

The va combined rating calculator applies the public combined ratings method in 38 CFR 4.25 and the bilateral factor in 38 CFR 4.26 to the ratings you enter. The result is an estimate, not an official decision. VA may rate your conditions differently, and the official decision comes only from VA. The monthly amount shown comes from the official VA compensation table and shows its effective date.

Representatives are independent

Attorneys and claims agents listed on MilitaryMedicine are independent. They are not our employees or agents, and we do not supervise their work, give advice through them or guarantee any result. We check each representative's accreditation against the public VA accreditation records before a profile goes live and we suspend profiles when accreditation lapses. Anyone can check accreditation with the public VA accreditation search. Accredited representatives generally may not charge you before VA issues an initial decision on a claim (38 CFR 14.636).

Free help is available
